On Thursday 31 October 2024, the “EoWRA – Empowering Women of Remote Areas” project of the Ladies’ Union of Drama-H.O.H. will be in Nevrokopi, in order to hold the last training workshop.
The workshop will take place at the KAPI of the Municipality of Nevrokopi and is part of the actions of the organization for the empowerment of women and the promotion of gender equality in remote areas of the Prefecture of Drama. During the last workshop of the programme, group counseling and open discussion will take place, aiming at the expression of women’s concerns and the strengthening of their self-confidence.
The 8-month “EoWRA” project aims to provide an integrated model of holistic management of domestic violence through the training of the Ladies’ Association of Drama-H.O.H. by the Institute of Child Health and the Norwegian organisation Alternative to Violence. At the same time, it will assist in the creation of the Child Protection Regulation and in the implementation of thematic actions in the 4 regional municipalities of Drama, Prosotsani, Nevrokopi, Paranesti and Doxato, for women aged 18-60 years old, aiming to promote gender equality in Greece through experiential workshops. The educational workshops are conducted by the Dean of the Department of Social Work of the Democritus University of Thrace, Chatzifotiou Sevasti, in collaboration with the team of the Ladies’ Union of Drama-H.O.H., which is also the implementing body of the programme.
The EoWRA project has a duration of eight months and includes, apart from the above objectives, the careful training of the organization’s team through the attendance of seminars by Social Dynamo and NGOs of the Bodossaki Foundation.
