Distinguished figures from across Greece visited the Ladies Union of Drama – HOH on Thursday, 17 September 2026.
The visitors included Nikiforos Diamandouros, President of the Academy of Athens; Raphael Moissis, Honorary President of the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE); Marilena Papalexopoulou of TITAN Group; and other distinguished guests.
Vice President Aliki Tsiamoura spoke with the visitors about the Union’s history and the vision she had when she became its president. She explained how that vision became a reality with the establishment of the Open Hospitality House, and how the Union has since expanded its work to provide meaningful support to vulnerable people.
The guests toured the facilities and learned about the Union’s services and programmes. These include its initiatives to prevent and combat gender-based violence, such as “TIME TO TALK II” and “POWERFUL VOICE”, as well as its Food Bank, support programmes for students in financial need, and medical and pharmaceutical care.
The visitors expressed admiration for the breadth of the Union’s work and praised the importance of such private initiatives in Greece’s regions. They also emphasised the value of social cohesion and expressed their willingness to support the Union’s future efforts and vision, each within their respective institutional capacity.
