Four Workshops, Many Voices: CHALLEDU and the Ladies Union of Drama Join Forces in Our City

The two-day workshop programme of the “CAREαίες” project was successfully completed in Drama. CHALLEDU and the Ladies Union of Drama – HOH joined forces for the first time, delivering two days of activities, learning and collaboration within the framework of ActionAid’s POWER programme.
A total of four workshops took place at the Union’s offices and at a school in Drama, with the participation of 39 primary school children, 18 vocational upper secondary school students and 30 women from the local community.
Participants discussed gender-based and domestic violence, the vulnerability of older women and people with other feminine gender identities, and ways to support people who have experienced violence.
The workshops created opportunities for collaborative activities and the exchange of views across generations. Students in their final year of upper secondary school created their own podcast, adults organised an activity on gender equality together with primary school children, and sixth-grade pupils completed a quiz on gender-based violence and its prevalence in Europe.
The two organisations also jointly produced a podcast, sharing insights from their workshops and research. This collaboration highlighted the value of mutual support, the exchange of good practices and working together, laying the foundations for future joint activities.
We would like to thank Ms Kaldani, Project Manager of the POWER programme, for her opening remarks and her warm support for this partnership.
The “CAREαίες” and “POWERFUL VOICE” projects are implemented within the framework of POWER – Promoting Organisations’ empoWErment to guarantee women’s human Rights and stop gender violence, which is co-funded by the European Union through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV – 2023 – DAPHNE).
