Another training workshop for informing and raising awareness of women from border areas about equality, claiming and defending their rights was held with great success.
The 7th educational workshop was held on Monday, October 14, 2024, in the hall of the Municipal Council of Prosotsani Town Hall. With the help and cooperation of the Social Service of the Municipality, the workshop informed and sensitized 32 women. The participants showed great interest and energy, asking questions, but also expressing their personal experiences and opinions, especially about the phenomenon of child abuse, which is strongly experienced by their children in the classrooms.
The 8-month "EoWRA" project aims to provide an integrated model of holistic management of domestic violence through the training of the Ladies' Association of Drama-H.O.H. by the Institute of Child Health and the Norwegian organisation Alternative to Violence. At the same time, it will assist in the creation of the Child Protection Regulation and in the implementation of thematic actions in the 4 regional municipalities of Drama, Prosotsani, Nevrokopi, Paranesti and Doxato, for women aged 18-60 years, with the aim of promoting gender equality in Greece through experiential workshops. The educational workshops are conducted by the Dean of the Department of Social Work of the Democritus University of Thrace, Chaztifotiou Sevasti, in collaboration with the team of the Ladies' Union of Drama-H.O.H., which is also the implementing body of the programme.
The project is supported by the Empowerment Programme for Civil Society Organisations active in the field of Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment, which was designed and is implemented by Social Dynamo, the NGO Hub of the Bodossaki Foundation.
