A program about awareness, information, and prevention of gender-based violence
On Thursday, June 5th, 2025, at 19:00, the Kick-off Conference for the new project of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – H.O.H. titled “TIME TO TALK II” will take place at the Public Central Library.
The project aims to prevent and address the phenomenon of gender-based violence in the city of Drama through actions focused on information, awareness, and support for vulnerable social groups.
The event will begin with opening remarks, followed by a presentation from the project team on the results of the first cycle, “TIME TO TALK I”.
Subsequently, Professor Sevasti Chatzifotiou, Dean of the Department of Social, Political and Economic Sciences at the Democritus University of Thrace, will present the new project, highlighting its goals and methodology.
Next, Anastasios Giagkouzidis, Police Captain A' and Head of the Domestic Violence Unit of the Drama Police Department, will speak about incidents of domestic violence in the local community.
Finally, School Psychologist Dr. Lazaros Vlachopoulos will focus on issues of violence occurring in the school environment.
The project “DEVELOPMENT OF ACTIONS FOR THE PREVENTION AND COMBATING OF GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE – TIME TO TALK II” is being implemented under the program “Eastern Macedonia and Thrace 2021–2027” within the priority axis “Social Inclusion and Poverty Alleviation (ESF+)”. The action is funded by the European Social Fund and is part of the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy of the Municipality of Drama.
