On Friday, September 29, 2025, the first two photography workshops of the "Capturing Reality" program were held in the municipalities of Doxato and Paranesti.
The action is being implemented by the Ladies’ Union of Drama– H.O.H with the financial support and auspices of the Ministry of Culture. The first workshop was held at the OCCE Doxato, in the presence of the Mayor, Mr. George Vogiatzis, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the contribution of the program to the cultural life of the area. In the afternoon, the action continued in Adriani, at the Multipurpose Amphitheater of the Adriani Educational and Cultural Association, with the participation of the Association's President, Mr. Konstantinos Doldouras. The president of the organization, Aliki Tsiamoura, welcomed the start of the activities who emphasized that one of the purposes of the Ladies’ Union is to implement activities in the remote municipalities of the Prefecture and to create equal opportunities for all citizens, since art is a means of social empowerment and cultural creation. During the workshops, there was active participation from citizens of different ages. Through a productive dialogue, the themes that would form the basis of the final Photography Exhibition were jointly determined. This collective process cultivates a sense of cooperation, highlights the importance of pluralism, and strengthens social cohesion in local communities. The program will continue with regular theoretical and practical classes, offering young and older people the opportunity to experiment creatively, express their experiences and stories, and give voice to local reality through their camera lens.
The Ladies’ Union of Drama- H.O.H will continue to implement the program with consistency and dedication until December 2025, when the final Photography Exhibition will be held at the prefecture level. This exhibition will be the culmination of this creative journey, emphasizing how art can act as a lever for social cohesion, empowering residents of remote areas.
