The sixth distribution of vouchers to fifty beneficiaries of the “Care for the Third Age IV” programme took place.
Specifically, on Wednesday 16 October the beneficiaries came to the offices of the institution. As part of the distribution, an online talk was held in cooperation with the non-profit civil society company Mission ANTHROPOS. The speaker was the Scientific Manager of the Geriatric Evaluation Center and Director of the First Pathology Clinic of the Henry Dunant Hospital Center, Anastasia Koutsouri Koutsouri, on the topic “Healthy Aging”.
Ms. Koutsouri analyzed the social (socialization through group participation and physical exercise) biological and psychological factors for maintaining wellness and productivity in the Third Age. She stressed that prevention and easy access to health facilities are key to maintaining mental and physical well-being. She concluded by pointing out that the exclusion of older people from social activities and work can have a significant physical and psychological impact on their health.

The “Care for the Elderly IV” programme involves the monthly provision of vouchers for the purchase of food and essentials for elderly people over sixty years of age and the organisation of talks on topics related to the elderly. It is financed entirely by the TIMA Public Benefit Foundation.
