An interesting online talk was attended by the beneficiaries of the “Care for the Elderly IV” programme.
Specifically, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the offices of the organization and in cooperation with the organization Mission ANTHROPOS, the fifty beneficiaries of the program had the unique opportunity to attend an informative speech on “Dental Health in the Third Age”. Professor of Geriodontics of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Anastasia Kosioni explained in simple words why we should not neglect the care of our teeth, the advantages of good oral health, the loss of teeth in populations. In fact, she stressed that the rates of tooth loss in Northern Greece reach 40% and 50% at the same time that in the prefecture of Attica the number is much lower. Finally, Mrs Kossioni gave some useful information such as how to brush the teeth, the correct use and choice of toothbrush, the choice of toothpaste and the hygiene of technical dentures.
The “Caring for the Third Age IV” project involves the monthly provision of vouchers for the purchase of food and essentials for elderly people over sixty years of age and the organisation of talks in the context of the distribution on topics related to the elderly. It is financed entirely by the TIMA Public Benefit Foundation.
