The program “TIME TO TALK” and the Ladies’ Union of Drama – H.O.H. are preparing again this year to hold educational workshops, in order to inform and raise awareness among the students and teachers about gender-based violence.

Two workshops are planned for February, with the promise of continuing the project for the rest of the year. The first workshop of the new year will take place on February 26, with the arrival of a class from the 2nd Secondary school of the Municipality of Drama, at the area of the Ladies’ Union of Drama-H.O.H. at 09:30 A.M. The second one will take place with the “TIME TO TALK” team visiting the Municipality of Paranesti, in order to inform and raise awareness among the students of both Secondary and High School.

The educational workshops, which have been taking place for about three years, have been attended by seven hundred and twenty-one children. The workshops have succeeded in disseminating information about gender-based violence both among the students and the wider population of Drama. Students and teachers declare their interest and the need for greater activity by social agencies on the issue of gender-based violence and seek to meet this need with their more active participation every year.

The above workshops could not have taken place without the Dean of the Department of Social Work of Democritus University of Thrace, Ms Chatzifotiou Sevasti, and her valuable collaboration with the Ladies’ Union of Drama, currently on a voluntary basis.
