The project “EoWRA -Empowerment of Women in Remote Areas” starts its implementation in Kalambaki.
With great joy and enthusiasm, the Ladies’ Union of Drama-H.O.H. is ready to start the new program that concerns the empowerment of women living in remote areas. On Wednesday 15 May 2024, the first training seminar for the information and awareness of women of the Municipality of Doxato will take place. The seminar will be held in Kalambaki, at the Children’s Station, with a target group of women from 18 to 60 years old.
The aim of the project is to address domestic violence through education, to create a Child Protection Regulation and to promote equality through educational workshops in 4 border municipalities. The educational workshops will be conducted by the Dean of the Social Work Department of the Democritus University of Thrace, Ms. Chatzifotiou Sevasti, in cooperation with the team of the Ladies’ Union of Drama-H.O.H., which is also the implementing body of the programme. The “EoWRA” project has a duration of eight months and includes, in addition to the above objectives, the careful training of the team of the organization through the attendance of seminars by Social Dynamo and NGOs of the Bodossaki Foundation. The “EoWRA” project, lasting eight months, aims to provide a comprehensive model of holistic management of domestic violence through training from the Child Health Institute and the Norwegian organisation Alternative to Violence. At the same time, it will assist in the creation of the Child Protection Regulation, as well as in the implementation of thematic actions in the 4 regional municipalities of the South Drama Municipality of Prosotsani, Nefrokopi, Paranesti and Doxato for women aged 18-60 years, aiming to promote gender equality in Greece through experiential workshops.
“The project is supported by the Empowerment Programme for Civil Society Organisations active in the field of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, designed and implemented by Social Dynamo, the NGO Hub of the Bodossaki Foundation”.
