The response of the children to the call of the Food Bank of Drama was moving
Action “COLLECT” on Monday 23.12. in the big supermarkets of the city
The response of the children of Kindergartens, Primary, Secondary and High Schools of Drama was very moving in the context of the action “CHILDREN PROVIDE LOVE”.
Through the action a ton of packaged long-life food was collected. For the second year the Food Bank of Drama implements the action “CHILDREN GIVE LOVE” by inviting schools of the city to participate with the collection of food. The schools that responded this year are the primary schools, 1st, 4th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 14th, 15th, 16th, Nea Amissou and Perithori as well as the Kindergartens, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 5th, 9th, 8th, 13th, 17th, Nea Amissou, Mavrovatou, Perithori, 1st and 4th High School of Drama.

In the framework of the action “Students get to know the Food Bank of Drama” tomorrow Thursday 19 and Friday 20 December will visit the 17th Kindergarten and the 9th and 10th Kindergarten of Drama respectively. The aim is to learn experientially about hunger and the fight against waste. The children are invited to answer a quiz and then prepare parcels and distribute them to beneficiaries of the institution.
At the same time, on Monday, December 23, the whole team of the Union of Ladies of Drama – H.O.H., staff and volunteers, will be in the supermarkets of our city within the framework of the “COLLECT” action, collecting long-life food and personal hygiene products through the support of the Dramian society.
The Food Bank of Drama
The Food Bank of Drama is the 4th nationwide Food Bank, which was founded by the Ladies’ Union of Drama – Open Hospitality House, in October 2019. It is a member of the European Federation of Food Banks (FEBA) and its primary purpose is to fight hunger and food waste by meeting the food needs of 2016 members of beneficiary families on a daily and monthly basis.
