On Friday 7 March 2025, the Food Bank of Drama welcomed 34 students of the primary school of Xiropotamos in the framework of the action “Students know the Food Bank of Drama”.
In this action, the children also brought food supplies, thus actively contributing to the work of the Food Bank. The children watched a short presentation, played an interactive quiz, visited the premises of the Food Bank of Drama and made bundles with long-life food and personal hygiene products. Through the distribution of these parcels, awareness and knowledge about food waste and the needs of our fellow human beings was raised, while all the children unanimously highlighted the power of giving to our vulnerable fellow citizens.
The action “Students know the Food Bank of Drama” is implemented by the Ladies’ Union of Drama – H.O.H. and is carried out in cooperation with the Department of Primary Education of Drama. At the end of the action, a souvenir relevant to the subject attended is sent as a deliverable from the students to our organization. The purpose of this action is the experiential approach to the objectives of the Food Bank of Drama concerning the fight against hunger and food waste.
