With the participation of 23 women held on Wednesday 12 June in Doxato the 3rd Educational Workshop.
The educational workshop is aimed at informing and raising awareness of women of marginalized regions, regions on equality and the assertion and defence of their rights. With the help and cooperation of the Municipality of Doxato, the workshop was very well received among the women, who approached the team of the Ladies’ Union of Drama-HOH, with great enthusiasm, interest and questions about similar issues they face daily. The group of the LUD-HOH was accompanied by the president of the organisation, Mrs. Tsiamoura Aliki, who is also the most vivid example of asserting and defending the rights of women’s rights both on a social, political and cultural level. The workshop took place in the area of Doxato in the early afternoon hours in order to service the arrival of the participants, who through the fulfilment of the multiple roles, which they are called upon to carry out, many times they are unable to claim a more equitable and socially acceptable position.
The “EoWRA” project, of 8 months duration, aims to provide an integrated model holistic management of domestic violence through training from the Institute of Children’s Health and the Norwegian Institution<< Alternative to Violence>>. At the same time, it will help to create a Child Protection Regulation, as well as the implementation of thematic actions in the 4 regional municipalities of Drama, Prosotsani, Nefrokopi, Paranesti and Doxato for women aged 18-60 years old, with the aim of promoting gender equality in Greece through experiential workshops. The educational workshops are conducted by the Dean of the Department of Social Work of the Democritus University of Thrace Chaztifotiou Sevasti, in cooperation with the team of the Ladies’ Union of Drama-HOH, which is also the implemented institution. The fulfilment of the first objective of the programme, with the completion of the Civil Protection, as well as the realization of the first training workshops in the Municipality of Doxato and Paranesti, guarantees a better approach and dealing with any form of violence.
