Seventy meals of love will be offered to the same number of beneficiaries on Thursday 20 February (Tsiknopempti) by the Food Bank of Drama of the Ladies’ Union.
The meals are courtesy of the catering establishments of our city that responded with great pleasure to the call of the organization. The seventy beneficiaries selected to receive hot meal portions, are lonely and elderly . President Aliki Tsiamoura said in this regard: “It is not the quantity that matters as much as the positive attitude to contribute to this effort.
The truth is that we have several lonely fellow human beings who will celebrate tomorrow alone and without the food that is customary on this day, which is meat. Seventy portions of hot meals will be lovingly distributed by the Food Bank. The Ladies’ Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitality is always by the side of our vulnerable fellow citizens, all days of the year.”

The Food Bank of Drama
The Food Bank of Drama is the 4th nationwide Food Bank, which was founded by the Ladies’ Union of Drama – Open Hospitality House, in October 2019. It is a member of the European Federation of Food Banks (FEBA) and its primary purpose is to fight hunger and food waste by meeting the food needs of 2016 members of beneficiary families on a daily and monthly basis.
