“ANTHIZOUME” is the name of the new thematic workshop of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – H.O.H. addressed to adult beneficiaries of the organization.
In the framework of the creative employment and psychosocial support workshop offered by the Ladies’ Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitality to beneficiaries of the organization, group meetings are held every week. The meeting day that has been set is Wednesday at 10 a.m. The workshop is open to single-parent families and elderly people, as well as any other beneficiary of the structure who expresses the desire to participate. The workshop encourages their active participation in life, even enhancing their cognitive, mental and physical functions, through creative activities and games. However, in addition to creative activities such as arts and crafts, it also offers psychosocial empowerment to the individuals involved. These meetings help individuals to manage feelings of loneliness or sadness that may arise due to isolation or loss of loved ones. The group nature of the workshop contributes to the socialisation of the beneficiaries and the development of friendly relationships between them. It strengthens their self-esteem, as through discussions and exchanges of experiences, they discover that they are not alone in their difficulties. Each month has its own theme, offering activities that mentally and emotionally empower the women who participate.
January: a month full of creativity and flavour memories
The first month of the year was dedicated to creating a recipe book, where each woman shared her favourite recipes, accompanied by the memories that make them special. Through this activity, images and moments from the past were brought to life, fostering intergenerational sharing and emotional connection. A special moment of the month was the cutting of the New Year’s cake, filling the group with hope and wishes for the new year.
February: a month full of colour, music and love
February began in a creative mood as participants made colourful carnival masks, showcasing their uniqueness and creative expression. At the same time, through their storytelling, they traveled back to the carnivals of their childhood, and shared memories of past Halloween celebrations.
The monthly activities will continue with a tribute to the Celebration of Lovers, where participants will have the opportunity to share love stories and express their feelings through creative activities. Music will also play a leading role, with songs that will fill the group with vitality and positive energy.
As part of the workshops, cognitive enhancement activities, such as memory games and creative thinking, are carried out, which enhanced the concentration and interaction of the participants. The workshop continues to welcome new participants with open arms, giving the opportunity to those who wish to experience moments of creativity, joy and social interaction.
