Child Protection Policy on sexual abuse and exploitation

The Child Protection Policy on Sexual Abuse and Exploitation is completed and implemented.
This Policy aims to raise awareness and ensure a prompt and effective response from all stakeholders of the agency (Board of Directors, employee members, partner agencies) to the phenomenon of child abuse and exploitation. For many years now, the L.U.D.- H.O.H. has been active through programs in the prevention and treatment of violence, now extending its actions to this vulnerable population. The commitment of both the workforce and all the collaborating members is now an integral part of the existence of the body, emphasizing once again “Zero Tolerance to Violence”. This new tool for the prevention and treatment of the phenomenon of child abuse and exploitation is one of the few that exist nationwide, meeting all the criteria after its evaluation by an experienced external partner. Its existence now ensures the obligation of all members involved with the L.U.D.- H.O.H., not only to report any possible act of abuse and exploitation, but also the immediate response and referral of the incident by the Institution.

The 8-month “EoWRA” project aims to provide a comprehensive model of holistic management of domestic violence through training by the Child Health Institute and the Norwegian organisation Alternative to Violence. At the same time, it will assist in the creation of the Child Protection Regulation, as well as in the implementation of thematic actions in the 4 regional municipalities of the South Drama Municipality of Prosotsani, Nevrokopi, Paranesti and Doxato for women aged 18-60 years, aiming to promote gender equality in Greece through experiential workshops. The educational workshops are conducted by the Dean of the Department of Social Work of the Democritus University of Thrace, Chatzifotiou Sevasti, in collaboration with the team of the Ladies’ Union of Drama-H.O.H., which is also the implementing body of the program. The fulfilment of the first objective of the programme, with the completion of the Civil Protection, as well as the realisation of the first training workshops in the Municipalities of Doxato and Paranesti, guarantees a better approach and response to all forms of violence.
“The project is supported by the Empowerment Programme for Civil Society Organisations active in the field of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, designed and implemented by Social Dynamo, the NGO Hub of the Bodossaki Foundation”.
