In a climate of excitement and enthusiasm, a screening was held at the Boys’ High School The documentary “Mobile School Travels”

The screening of the documentary “Mobile School Travels”, produced by the Ladies’ Union of Drama, took place on Wednesday 4 September in an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm.
The documentary, directed by Loukas Paleokrasas, was screened in the framework of the 47th Short Film Festival of Drama at the Boys’ High School of Drama and received the warmest applause. The documentary, which was filmed in the Philippou camp of Drama, narrates the life of Roma children who live in the Philippou camp of Drama and work on the streets. It was filmed during the educational project “Mobile School Travels”, which was implemented in the framework of the ActiveCitizens Fund project, with the Union of Ladies of Drama-H.O.H. The main objectives of the project “Mobile School Travels” are the elimination of school dropout and illiteracy, the encouragement of the participation of Roma children in educational activities and the strengthening of their self-esteem, objectives that contribute to their psycho-social uplift and the acquisition of basic skills.
Where the documentary traveled
So far it has been screened at the 26th Documentary Festival of Thessaloniki, where it was included in the programme of the morning school screenings, at the Film Club of the Philoprodis Union of Xanthi, at the Lithographion Theatre of Patras, at the Detention Centre of Chania, at the Limassol International Documentary Festival in Cyprus, while on November 18-24 it will be screened at the 7th Children and Teenagers International Film Festival of Athens.
The project “Mobile School Travels” was implemented in the framework of the Activecitizensfund programme, with the Association of Ladies of Drama – H.O.H. The Activecitizensfund programme, worth € 15 million, was implemented by the Association of Ladies of Drama – H.O.H., was funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the European Economic Area (EEA) funding mechanism for the period 2014 – 2021, known as EEA Grants. The project aimed to strengthen and enhance the sustainability of civil society and to highlight its role in promoting democratic processes, enhancing citizens’ participation in the community and defending human rights.
