One hundred and forty-two primary school students visited the Open Hospitality Hostel of the Ladies’ Union of Drama-H.O.H. in the framework of the “VIA DRAMA” action.
On the occasion of the 25th of November – International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Ladies’ Union of Drama – H.O.H implemented a series of actions to raise awareness and mobilize the general population within the framework of the established event “VIA DRAMA”. For a whole week 25-30 November and by appointment, the first floor of the hostel was open to schools. The aim was to demystify the hostel as something impersonal and not in tune with the everyday life of the citizens. During their visit, the students had the opportunity to learn about the history, vision and goal of the Open Hospitality House. Also of great interest to the children of Drama was the exhibition of photographs of battered women at the offices of the organisation (on Venizelou Street). The exhibition depicts the brutality and consequences of gender violence, offering a shocking reality experienced by many women. Finally, the messages written on the protest wall were resounding. There, passers-by were able to write any message of support and sympathy for the victims of abuse of women.
