The Ladies' Union of Drama - HOH presented the good practices it implements for the employment integration of abused women, at the Athens Municipality and Job Center Workshop.
At the workshop which was held on Tuesday, September 30, with the theme "Together for a new beginning: Networking and Cooperation for the Reintegration of Vulnerable Groups into the Labor Market," the organization participated in the thematic session: "Groups with Challenges and Strengths—Gender-Based Violence, Disability, Addiction, Release from Prison." Taking the floor, President Aliki Tsiamouras looked back on the first program implemented in 2006 under the title "Women-Employment" and targeting abused women excluded from the labor market. This program was the organization's first good practice, as it continues on a voluntary basis. In fact, in the first eight months of 2025, 13 women found work in the private sector. "The success of the program," emphasized the president, "is due to the personalized approach we take with each woman and the holistic approach to addressing her needs." She then analyzed the "TIME TO LEARN" program, which targets Roma women and informs them about human rights and the values of the European Union. As she noted: "In order to achieve our goal of informing and raising awareness among women, we created printed educational material that could reach these women and open up dialogue." Through the "TIME TO LEARN" program, four Roma women found jobs in the private sector, while one opened a clothing store. Finally, she referred to the "Independent Strong Voice" program, which was implemented by three ministries and the Public Employment Service (PES), and how she made use of it. Through the program, two abused women—beneficiaries of the organization—found work in the private sector.
