The Ladies' Union of Drama – HOH participated in the 7th Pan-Hellenic Conference on Science Education through Modern Technologies on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., with the program "POWERFUL VOICE." The online presentation, titled “Empowerment and Awareness-Raising Practices on EU Values and Gender Equality in the Prefecture of Drama, Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. The example of the POWERFUL VOICE Program," focused on the qualitative results of in-person interventions. The aim of the presentation was to highlight the need for information and awareness-raising among residents of remote areas in the municipalities of Prosotsani, Neurokopi, Doxato, and Paranesti, regarding human rights and gender equality. At the same time, comments made during the workshops were analyzed, as well as the impressions of the participants themselves, of all ages. Following the presentation, a constructive discussion took place regarding the results of the workshops to date, as well as the comments and challenges encountered during the implementation of the program.
The 14-month “POWERFUL VOICE” program, funded by Action Aid and the European Union, aims to inform, educate, and raise awareness among men and women (aged 13-60) living in remote areas of the municipalities of the Prefecture of Drama (Prosotsani, Paranesti, Neurkopi, Doxato) on issues related to the values of the European Union, gender equality, and the recognition of forms of gender-based violence.
The ” POWERFUL VOICE ” project is implemented within the framework of the “POWER – Promoting Organizations’ empoWErment to guarantee women’s human rights and stop gender-based violence” program, which is coordinated by WeWorld (WW), in collaboration with Action Aid 12 Hellas (AAH) and the Asociación Bienestar y Desarrollo (ABD).
