The prolonged applause of the cinephiles received the documentary “The Mobile School Travels” produced by the Ladies’ Union of Drama – H.O.H. at the 26th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival.
Its premiere took place on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., in the Pavlos Zannas hall at the Olympian Cinema. The project team together with the president of the nonprofit organization, Mrs. Aliki Tsiamoura, as well as many friends from Drama and Thessaloniki were present. After the screening, there was a discussion with the viewers, as the interest in the specific target group, which is Roma children, was great. “The Mobile School Travels” directed by Lucas Paleocrassas is a documentary, in which, as he characteristically says: “I tried to capture the emotional impact of the project on the children, but also on the team of the Ladies’ Union of Drama, who, with their dedication, strengthen the belief that the education can define a child’s life and create a more inclusive future.”
The documentary is a nominee for the audience awards, while on Wednesday morning it was watched by students from the elementary schools of Thessaloniki.

The project “The Mobile School Travels” is implemented within the framework of the Active citizensfund program, with the implementing body of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitality (ΗΟΗ). The Active citizens fund program, amounting to €15 million, is financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the financial mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) for the period 2014 – 2021, known as EEA Grants. The program aims to strengthen and optimize the sustainability of civil society, as well to highlight its role in promoting democratic processes, strengthening citizens’ participation in society, and defending human rights.
