In a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere, the first cooperation agreement between the Drama Food Bank of the Ladies Union of Drama - Η.Ο.Η. and the Prosotsani High School was signed on Monday, May 26th.
As part of the new initiative titled "CHILDREN – AMBASSADORS OF THE FOOD BANK OF DRAMA," the school principal, Konstantinos Devrikis, welcomed the President, Aliki Tsiamoura, and the team of the Food Bank, expressing his admiration for the multifaceted and meaningful work carried out daily by the organization. Following this, Ms. Tsiamoura addressed the students, speaking about the new initiative and its benefits for the local community. Additionally, students were informed about the responsibilities they will undertake in the local area with the aim of supporting the Food Bank of Drama.
The initiative, "CHILDREN – AMBASSADORS OF THE FOOD BANK OF DRAMA," aims to promote the message of combating hunger and food waste —issues that dominate today’s social landscape. Alongside the initiatives "CHILDREN OFFER LOVE" and "STUDENTS GET TO KNOW THE FOOD BANK OF DRAMA," it seeks to raise awareness and mobilize children aged 5–18 regarding the core objectives of Food Banks.
The Food Bank of Drama
The Food Bank of Drama is the fourth Food Bank established in Greece. It was founded by the Ladies Union of Drama –House of Open Hospitality in October 2019. It is a member of the European Food Banks Federation (FEBA) and its primary mission is to fight hunger and food waste. It meets the nutritional needs of 2,016 beneficiaries on a daily and monthly basis.
