The Ladies Union of Drama participates in the research project “Health and Menstrual Hygiene of Adolescent Girls in Greece”

A working meeting will be held tomorrow, Friday, August 1, at 12:00 noon at the offices of Ladies Union of Drama - HOH
Executives from the International Rescue Committee Hellas (IRC Hellas) will talk with the organization's social scientists as part of the research project "Menstrual Health and Hygiene of Adolescent Girls in Greece: Policy Analysis, Policy Recommendations and Development of an Investment Memorandum." The aim of the project is to investigate the current state of menstrual health and hygiene among adolescent girls in Greece and to collect proposals for its improvement. This project is part of the National Action Plan for the Promotion of Family and Child Health in Greece (2023–2025). It is being implemented by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with UNICEF and is funded by the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Fund – NextGenerationEU, Greece 2.0. During the visit, a dialogue will be held with the aim of strengthening synergies in the areas of child and adolescent health, while a focus group discussion will also be held with adolescents and parents benefiting from the LUD-HOH, coordinated by the IRC team.
LUD-HOH, with recognized experience in supporting socially vulnerable groups, seeks through this collaboration to strengthen its international orientation, exchange best practices, and utilize modern scientific methods of intervention and empowerment. This action is part of LUD-HOH 's strategy for active cooperation with institutional bodies and international organizations, with the aim of strengthening its social interventions in the local community.
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is an international humanitarian organisation founded in 1933 and active in more than 40 countries worldwide, providing direct support to vulnerable populations experiencing crises, wars and natural disasters. IRC Hellas has been operating in Greece since 2015, developing actions in the areas of health, education, and social integration, focusing on refugees, migrants, and other vulnerable social groups.
