The new program “EoWRA Empowering of Woman’s in Remote Areas” of Ladies’ Union of Drama – H.O.H. was launched.

The first action of the project was the educational trip to Athens to the Institute of Child Health (ICH), as for the organization to obtain a Child Protection Policy and to be further strengthened. The President, Aliki Tsiamoura, accompanied by the Dean of the Democritus University of Thrace – Department of Social Work, Sevasti Chatzifotiou visited the ICH, where she received specialized knowledge on how to draft the policy. The goal of the program is to deal with domestic violence through education, to create a Child Protection regulation, as well as to promote Equality through educational workshops in 4 remote Municipalities. The educational workshops will be undertaken by the Dean Sevasti Chatzifotiou in collaboration with the team of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – H.O.H., which is also the implementing body of the program. The EoWRA program has a duration of eight months and includes, in addition to the above objectives, the careful training of the institution’s team through the attendance of seminars by Social Dynamo and NGO of the Bodosaki Foundation.

The 8-month “EoWRA” program aims to provide an integrated model of holistic treatment of domestic violence through training from the Institute of Child Health and the Norwegian organization “Alternative to Violence”. At the same time, it will help in the creation of a Child Protection Regulation, as well as in the implementation of thematic actions in the 4 regional municipalities of the Prefecture of Drama, Prosotsani, Nevrokopi, Paranesti and Doxato, for women aged 18-60, with the aim of promoting gender equality in Greece through experiential workshops.

“The project is supported by the Empowerment Program of Civil Society Organizations, active in the field of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, which was designed and implemented by Social Dynamo, the NGO Hub of the Bodosaki Foundation”.
