The “POWERFUL VOICE” PROGRAM in Kalambaki and Kalos Agros

On February 11 and 12, 2026, the Ladies' Union of Drama - ΗΟΗ held the 13th and 14th educational workshops of the “POWERFUL VOICE” program, with the participation of 30 students, teachers, and working women in the Municipality of Doxato and Kalo Agro, Drama.
The 13th workshop took place at the Kalambaki High School and was aimed at 11th-grade students and teachers. The workshop’s topics focused on human rights as outlined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, with an emphasis on gender equality and education. The students showed particular interest in the presentation, especially regarding the violation of children’s rights in contemporary global society. Although the rights and goals necessary to ensure children’s well-being have been enshrined, it appears that these rights are being increasingly violated every day.
The 14th workshop took place the following day at the “Kaloagritissa” Agricultural Women’s Collective in Kalos Agros. This workshop was held in observance of International Women’s Day. The aim of the visit was to address women’s rights, empower professional women regarding entrepreneurship, and discuss the cooperative’s development. Through a constructive discussion, we discussed the cooperative’s history, the motivations, and the challenges they have faced in the past and present. Additionally, we discussed the organization’s achievements and the ways in which they plan to continue their work.
The 14-month “POWERFUL VOICE” program, funded by Action Aid and the European Union, aims to inform, educate, and raise awareness among men and women (aged 13-60) living in remote areas of the municipalities of the Prefecture of Drama (Prosotsani, Paranesti, Neurkopi, Doxato) on issues related to the values of the European Union, gender equality, and the recognition of forms of gender-based violence.
The ” POWERFUL VOICE ” project is implemented within the framework of the “POWER – Promoting Organizations’ empoWErment to guarantee women’s human rights and stop gender-based violence” program, which is coordinated by WeWorld (WW), in collaboration with Action Aid 12 Hellas (AAH) and the Asociación Bienestar y Desarrollo (ABD).
