On Monday, February 16, 2026, the Ladies Union of Drama - HOH held the 11th educational workshop of the “POWERFUL VOICE” program, with the participation of 20 students and teachers, at a school in the Municipality of Doxato.
The workshop took place at the Kalambaki High School and was aimed at first-year high school students and teachers. The topics covered in the educational workshop concerned human rights based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on gender equality and education. The students showed particular interest in the presentation and especially in protection from abuse. They asked constantly about how they can defend their rights, who to turn to, and how to react if the authorities do not take action after they file a complaint.
The 14-month “POWERFUL VOICE” program, funded by Action Aid and the European Union, aims to inform, educate, and raise awareness among men and women (aged 13-60) living in remote areas of the municipalities of the Prefecture of Drama (Prosotsani, Paranesti, Neurkopi, Doxato) on issues related to the values of the European Union, gender equality, and the recognition of forms of gender-based violence.
The ” POWERFUL VOICE ” project is implemented within the framework of the “POWER – Promoting Organizations’ empoWErment to guarantee women’s human rights and stop gender-based violence” program, which is coordinated by WeWorld (WW), in collaboration with Action Aid 12 Hellas (AAH) and the Asociación Bienestar y Desarrollo (ABD). POWER is co-funded by the European Union through the “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values” program (CERV – 2023 – DAPHNE).
