The program "TIME TO TALK II" implemented by the Ladies' Union of Drama-HOH on Friday 11 July at 9:00 in the morning will be at the 1st EPAL of Drama where the Summer School "Summer in Drama" is being implemented.
The aim is to implement an awareness-raising action for students on the phenomenon of gender violence. The "Summer in Drama" Summer School, implemented by the Bodouroglou Foundation, is an innovative educational programme that provides students with the opportunity to learn about contemporary scientific and social issues through experiential activities, technological workshops and cultural activities. The programme hosts specialised institutions and teachers with the aim of cultivating skills, enhancing active participation and developing the social awareness of young people.
In the above context, the action of the LUD-HOH is also included. More specifically, the aim of the workshop is for the participants to become familiar with the basic concepts and forms of gender-based violence and to become familiar with the ways of recognizing such incidents in their everyday life. The approach will be interactive and will be carried out using the online game "Change the plot. Be a gender hero!", a tool developed by the LUD-HOH, in the framework of the project "TIME TO TALK I" on preventing and combating gender violence.
The game is based on the role-playing scenario method and presents everyday situations in which players are asked to make decisions and choose ways of reacting to incidents related to gender stereotypes, discrimination or violence. Each choice leads the story to a different development, highlighting the consequences of the characters' attitudes and behaviours. Through this experiential activity , students will strengthen their empathy, practice their critical thinking and reflect on their role as active citizens who can contribute to preventing and addressing stereotypical and abusive gender violence.
The project “DEVELOPMENT OF PREVENTION-ACTIVITY ACTIVITIES FOR PREVENTION-TO-COMBAT VIOLENCE – PREVENTION-INTERVENTION OF VIOLENCE II”, implemented by the Ladies’ Union of Drama – HOH., is carried out under the “Eastern Macedonia, Thrace 2021-2027” Programme and the priority “Social inclusion and poverty reduction (ESF+)”. The operation is co-financed by the European Social Fund. The project is part of the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy of the Municipality of Drama.
