On Tuesday, 16 June, the “TIME TO TALK II” project team of Ladies Union of Drama - HOH carried out an awareness-raising and training activity for healthcare professionals at Agia Eirini Psychiatric Clinic.
Participation was significant, with thirty-two staff members attending the informative and educational presentation on gender-based and domestic violence. The presentation focused on the support healthcare professionals can provide, the early identification of signs of abuse, and the appropriate steps for managing such cases.
The aim of these workshops is to inform frontline professionals about the Greek and international legal and institutional framework, the role they can play, and the actions they are required to take when they identify signs of abuse within the family or social environment of patients.
At the end of the event, the staff offered handmade commemorative gifts created by the clinic’s patients and expressed their appreciation by leaving messages in the visitors’ book.
Ladies Union of Drama - HOH has been implementing the “TIME TO TALK II” project since May 2025. One of its main objectives is to strengthen frontline professionals’ capacity to identify, manage and refer cases of gender-based violence through coordinated multi-sectoral interventions, while also improving networking and cooperation among local services.
The project “Development of Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Combating Actions – TIME TO TALK II” is implemented within the framework of the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace 2021–2027 Programme, under the priority “Social Inclusion and Combating Poverty (ESF+)”. The project is co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) and forms part of the Sustainable Urban Development Strategy of the Municipality of Drama.
