Thirty-four days of free activities for all children are offered by the Ladies’ Union of Drama – H.O.H. in its little house in this year’s Dream City.
Every Monday the action “I learn my rights” takes place. Through role-playing, children learn about their rights and obligations in order to become active citizens. Every Tuesday, the action “Secrets you shouldn’t keep” takes place. Cartoons teach children how to deal with distressing behaviour in the school environment, while every Wednesday it is the turn of the Ladies’ Union story “Once upon a time there were Roma”. A fairy tale written by the author and lyricist Olga Vlachopoulou with the aim of introducing children to the wonderful Roma race and removing stereotypes. Finally, on Fridays the fairy tale “The ant does not waste” teaches children about the fight against hunger and waste. Children also have the opportunity to play and get to know the educational tool mobile school which targets Roma children living and working on the streets.
Otherwise, the photo exhibition organized by the organization with the Archaeological Museum of the city under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture was completed. From Friday 6/12 the exhibition will be hosted in the interior of the house. The exhibition includes 28 photographic works, the authors of which are beneficiaries of the “Care for the Third Age” programme, as well as other programmes of the Ladies’ Union of Drama who participated in the accelerated workshop. The “Narrate your Story” program, is a specialized photography learning program designed to empower older participants to tell their unique stories through the art of photography.
