The team of the project “TIME TO LEARN” of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – H.O.H., conducted an internal evaluation in order to receive feedback on the results of its implementation.
The evaluation, where a structured questionnaire was used, was answered by forty-two (42) of the forty-five (45) beneficiaries who participated in the workshops in order to evaluate the services of the project and its impact on the participating women. The results are very encouraging about the usefulness of the project, its utility and its contribution to improving their lives by 64.29%. Also a very high percentage of 73.81% wish to participate in a similar future project since the information helps them to become more active and involved citizens. The statistical results show that all the modules were very important and interesting with the topic of domestic violence first, education second, followed by health, work, civil rights and lastly the right to housing. However, the most important thing that is a key indicator of the results of the project is the acquisition of the primary school certificate for five (5) of the participants and the continuation of the education at the Adult Secondary School for two (2) of them.
Finally, the long-term objective of the evaluation is to improve and highlight the methodology developed, as the Ladies’ Union of Drama created educational material for the awareness raising of Roma populations.
The project “TIME TO LEARN” was related to the protection and promotion of the rights and values of the European Union / BUILD. It aimed to educate 30 Roma women living in the areas of Filippou and Ampelokipi of Drama, but also Roma women living in the urban area of Drama, as well as women from the settlement of Kalampaki.
The “TIME TO LEARN” programme was extended by one month in order to carry out an internal evaluation that will help the organisation to optimise its objectives in the next programmes.
The project “TIME TO LEARN” is implemented in the framework of the BUILD project, with the “Ladies’ Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitality ” and the partner organization “Alysos Alert”.
