On Monday, January 26, 2026, the Ladies' Union of Drama - HOH held the 9th educational workshop of the POWERFUL VOICE program, with the participation of 43 students and teachers, at a school in the Municipality of Paranesti. The workshop took place at the Nikiforos Gymnasium with High School Classes in the Municipality of Paranesti and was aimed at middle and high school students and teachers. The topics covered in the educational workshop concerned human rights based on the Charter of Children's Rights, established by the UN, and the 17 sustainable development goals, with a focus on gender equality and education. The students actively participated in the presentation, placing particular emphasis on children's freedom of expression in processes that concern them and in court proceedings. Very interesting comments were made on whether these rights and laws are respected in Greece and how the constant violation of specific rights can be changed.

The 14-month “POWERFUL VOICE” program, funded by Action Aid and the European Union, aims to inform, educate, and raise awareness among men and women (aged 13-60) living in remote areas of the municipalities of the Prefecture of Drama (Prosotsani, Paranesti, Neurkopi, Doxato) on issues related to the values of the European Union, gender equality, and the recognition of forms of gender-based violence.

The ” POWERFUL VOICE ” project is implemented within the framework of the “POWER – Promoting Organizations’ empoWErment to guarantee women’s human rights and stop gender-based violence” program, which is coordinated by WeWorld (WW), in collaboration with Action Aid 12 Hellas (AAH) and the Asociación Bienestar y Desarrollo (ABD). POWER is co-funded by the European Union through the “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values” program (CERV – 2023 – DAPHNE).
